Tagalong is a group trip planner. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used and the choices you have. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t show ads.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name and email address when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email that service shares with us. With Apple you can choose to hide your email.
- Trip content. What you and your group add to a trip: the destination and dates, plans and times, polls and votes, expenses and who paid, to-do items, notes, and the “lore” (theme song link, sayings, inside jokes and highlights).
- Photos you choose. If you pick a cover photo from your photo library, that one image is uploaded and stored with the trip. Tagalong doesn’t access the rest of your library.
- Subscription status. Whether you have Tagalong Pro, which plan, and when it renews. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
- App usage. Basic, first-party analytics about how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened and app launches), along with device type and app version. We use this to fix bugs and improve the app.
Tagalong does not access your precise location, contacts, camera or microphone.
Who can see your trip
Everything in a trip is visible to the people who joined it with its invite code. Only share the code with people you want in the trip. Trip members can see your name next to what you add.
Services we use
- Newly hosts the app’s accounts and data, provides the AI features and collects the first-party analytics described above.
- AI features. When you ask for ideas, the trip’s destination, dates and related details are sent to an AI model through Newly to generate suggestions. When you chat with Ask Tagalong, your messages and the trip’s plan (places, dates and times) are sent the same way so it can answer. Don’t include anything private in those messages.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status, using an anonymous or account-linked identifier and your purchase receipts from Apple or Google.
- Apple and Google process sign-in (if you choose it) and payments.
- Open-Meteo (weather), ExchangeRate-API (currency rates) and REST Countries (country info) receive only the destination name or currency code needed for the lookup, never your account details.
- Spotify opens if you tap a trip’s theme song link; Spotify’s own policy applies there.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and trips for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account details and the trips you created are deleted from our systems. Things you added to someone else’s trip may remain visible to that trip’s members without your name.
Your choices
- Edit or delete trip content in the app at any time.
- Delete your account in the app under Your trips → Account → Delete account, or by emailing us.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it by emailing us.
- Cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings.
Children
Tagalong isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
